NEW DELHI: Nandha Kumar is living a dream. After making an impression in the I-League last season with Chennai City FC (CCFC), he earned a maiden call-up to the India U-23 side, where he featured in two friendlies against Singapore. Nandha’s impressive show also secured a move to Indian Super League (ISL) side Delhi Dynamos on loan from CCFC. And things got even better for the Chennai boy when he travelled with Dynamos to Doha for pre-season training.
With two days left for their pre-season to end, former Barcelona and Spain midfield general Xavi Hernandez, who now plays for Al Sadd, dropped in to meet the Dynamos players. “I have been an avid Barcelona supporter all my life, to meet Xavi was a dream come true,” Nandha told TOI on Saturday. “He is such a big superstar but a very down-to-earth person. He shook hands and clicked pictures with us.”
